Columbus was largely settled by German immigrants and German Village is a restored community. Columbus Zoo is a great success and boasts a breeding program for several endangered species such as cheetahs, snow leopards, polar bears, and even eagles. They are rightly proud of their four generations of captive-bred gorillas.
